Introducing IHLR’s Third Annual Photo Finish Contest!
Despite that old saying about a picture being worth 1,000 words, here at Iron Horse Literary Review, they’re worth 500 max—or fifteen lines of an original poem. For our annual Photo Finish feature, we’re seeking stories or essays up to 500 words and poems up to 15 lines for a special e-edition set to showcase your shorties at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve. This e-issue is the last horse over the finish line at the end of our calendar year.
The rules are simple. Take a look at the photo posted on our website on the PhotoFinish page. Write a story, essay, or poem that engages the image. Send us your work via Submittable between June 1st and 30th. Deadline extended to July 15th for 2017.
The winning entry receives $250 and publication in the e-edition. Up to nine other finalists will also be published in the e-edition. $5 to submit.
So take a look, be inspired, and send us the results!
